Sometimes, the pain and grief of life can feel like too much to carry.
When I lost my mum to cancer last year, there were moments when the pain was so intense that I could hardly breathe.
I remember a couple of people saying, “But everyone dies.”
And while that may be true, no one else knows the full story behind another person’s grief.
The words left unspoken.
The regret of not spending more time together.
The helplessness of watching someone you love suffer.
The trauma of seeing them suffocate in front of your eyes.
The gaping hole their absence leaves within a family.
The heartbreak of knowing your mum will not be there for your wedding day or the birth of your child.
The frustration of not being told about the cancer sooner.
The endless thoughts about what you could have done differently.
Grief is never “just” about someone dying.
It carries the entire story of the relationship—the love, the memories, the misunderstandings, the unmet needs, and everything you wish you still had time to say.
So many women have learned to silence themselves, suppress their emotions, and continue caring for everyone else while quietly carrying enormous pain.
We may not always have the relationships, community, or emotional support we need to speak our truth, process what has happened to us, and feel genuinely seen and heard.
Emotional pain does not have one simple cause-and-effect relationship with illnesses such as cancer. However, prolonged stress, isolation, and unprocessed grief can deeply affect our mental and physical wellbeing.
This is not about blaming women for becoming unwell. It is about recognising how much support we truly need.
This is part of the reason I am so serious about creating safe, supportive spaces for women.
Women are powerful, intuitive, and deeply feeling beings. We create and nurture life, businesses, families, and communities—but we also need strong, loving structures that hold us.
Places where we can exhale.
Where we can speak honestly.
Where we can release grief and pain.
Where difficult conversations and unmet needs can be acknowledged.
Where we can reconnect with ourselves and other women.
Where we do not always have to be the strong one.
Despite all our modern advances, so many women are experiencing anxiety, burnout, loneliness, and chronic stress.
Perhaps part of what is missing is genuine connection: the village, the sisterhood, and the safe spaces women have always needed.
For too long, women have been taught to compare and compete with one another rather than recognise each other as sources of strength, understanding, and support.
I believe we need one another.
If any part of this speaks to you—especially if you have been feeling tired, anxious, disconnected, stuck at a plateau, or ready to move into the next level of your life—I warmly invite you to join us, sis.
You do not have to carry everything alone. 🤍
