Finding Comfort and Solace in Moments of Grief

During these challenging times, it’s vital to acknowledge the recent Bondi Junction shooting incident, with the tragic loss of life hitting so close to home. Witnessing such events unfold in our community is heartbreaking, and our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy.

When confronting grief, each of us copes in our unique way, finding various forms of solace. In Sikhism, the mantra “Akaal” holds profound significance. Translated, it means deathless, infinite, and undying. Playing this mantra has been a source of comfort and grounding, helping souls transition smoothly to the next level. Soothing our souls and creating an atmosphere of healing through music, while sending prayers to all those affected, has been an essential practice during this time. Personally, I find peace by playing my favorite version from “Hansu Jot” on repeat, bringing a sense of solace and reflection.

On a different note, our recent sold-out Complementary business retreat held on Sunday provided a tender and magical gathering, serving as a reminder of the strength found in community during difficult times. Together, we chanted “Akaal” and sent prayers to those affected, finding comfort in our togetherness.

Looking ahead, a positive event is on the horizon at the Sanctuary. The “Paradise Pool Party” on May 4th promises to be a healing, sober gathering filled with saunas, a DJ, pool, dancing, and various other activities. It offers an opportunity for us to come together, support one another, and find uplifting moments amidst intense times.
